Mercy, Ms Diabolical. Here we have the dark side of the moon version of O. Henry's "The Gift of the Magi." Couldn't she have just stopped off in Slidell for some softshell crab po' boys, give him a little scare? No, of course, she couldn't. Whether she turned back or kept on going, I loved that you sent her across Pontchartrain. I was there in the passenger seat.

Paid you a visit over at the EDF folks. Splendid.

Thank you so much everyone! It has been one of those weird days packed with stuff and more stuff. A job offer, quaking boots in case the Every Day Fiction folks hate on my story, the possibility of snow, and sadness for the death of a former pastors ten year old granddaughter. Kinda dazed and confused. Hug your kids...

Dee, I loved "Ladies Night" and I was very glad to see you post at the end of the day to let us all know you took the few criticisms some commenters offered in stride. Some people can pack birth, death and everything in between, plus a cast of twelve characters into a piece of flash fiction - that's certainly not my style and that's not what I enjoy reading. Your story rocked. I can't wait to read more!
