Nanowrimo Part Deux

I had just about decided to not participate at all this year.  I have been concentrating on writing poetry and just didn’t think I would have the time.  I have started an outline and it just kept whispering to me so I have signed on.

I do not plan to make the push for 50,000 words this year.  If it happens, fine, but I am going to concentrate on working a bit slower and trying to write well instead of just a lot.  Nanowrimo will help me be accountable and my word count will go to the region I am affiliated with so I don’t see a downside.  My word count will show on the meter on my blog page but it will not rule November for me this year.

It’s always exhilarating to run with a crowd … I like your idea, though, about making your own rules and setting your own pace. Take it easy, have fun — good luck!

Thanks Anno, last year I made the word count but it was horrible and a pile of paper that is not good for much but to say I did it. I’m proud that I did it because I would never have thought I could. Now I would like to write something readable 🙂

Hi…I think I put your website under my favorite last spring when we had an online advanced writing class together. I also took the beginnings writing class too, so it could have been from that one. Either way, I wanted to say hi again. I learned about the nanowrimo from students in my classes. I have never done it but I am giving it a try this year. So far, so good. But it’s harder than I thought. It didn’t help that I came down with a horrible cold and perhaps a touch of the flu. LOL. I’ll try to keep checking on your updates. good luck! Lisa, my real name I used Goldilox in my class.

Good for you and sorry about the cold – I’m getting over the same! Off work for two days and going back to work tomorrow. Do you have a blog Lisa? I’d love to keep up 🙂

I like your idea, too. I finally recently went through what I wrote for Nano time last year, and it wasn’t too bad. I quit when my instinct said to regroup and rewrite a bit before pumping out more pages.

This year I am glorying in having a brand new job – in this economy! I’ll be paying a dentist instead of racking up a word count, which is good – great! – but part of my heart is with those who are jumping into NaNoWriMo.

    Enjoy the ride!
